Mr. Payton Ragon

Payton Ragon is an Assistant Principal at Hancock Middle School. He attended Delta State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He received his Master’s in Education and Specialist in Administration from William Carey University. Before becoming an administrator, Payton taught various history, health and physical education classes in his 22 year career. He has also coached basketball, baseball, track and volleyball at the high school and middle school levels throughout his career.

Mr. Ragon is proud to be able to instill confidence in students while building positive relationships along the way. He would like every student to have an opportunity for growth and to see them succeed while at Hancock Middle School. Payton wants every student to have a reason to be at Hancock and to be thankful that they were.

Payton is originally from North Mississippi and is married to Ashley Ragon. They have two children, Presley and Roston. Payton comes from a family of educators. His father taught for over 30 years and his wife and mother-in-law are also veteran teachers. An interesting fact is that Payton met his wife Ashley when they began their teaching careers here in the Hancock County School District. He is excited to be back in the district where it began and to be home.
